Study Visa Documents Checklist (2026): What Students from Hisar Need, Country by Country

By Dreams Destination Counselling Desk ·

Quick answer

For a study visa, every student needs a valid passport, 10th and 12th marksheets (plus degree if any), and a recent photograph in the embassy's format. Country extras: Russia adds an HIV medical report and work details; Moldova adds a police clearance certificate and birth certificate; Belarus needs only passport, academic certificate and photo; Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia add an interview and the university's own list. Translation, apostille and embassy forms are part of the package at Dreams Destination Immigration in Hisar, so students should bring originals to the first sitting and not pay for photos or translations beforehand.

Most study visa delays we see at the Hisar desk have nothing to do with the embassy. A 10th marksheet is at a relative's house in Hansi, the passport has eight months left, or someone paid a shop ₹3,000 for translations in the wrong format. This checklist exists so that does not happen to you.

Print it, tick it, bring the originals to Red Square Market.

Part 1: documents every student needs

Document Notes
Passport Valid well beyond your course start; if you have not applied yet, do it first — everything else waits for it
10th marksheet and certificate Original
12th marksheet and certificate Original
Degree / diploma (if any) Original, with all semester marksheets
Photograph Embassy format differs by country (Moldova: digital 35×45; Russia and Belarus: HD photo). We shoot it in the right format — do not pre-print a stack
Earlier visa refusal letters (if any) Must be declared; hiding one is misrepresentation

That is the whole universal list. Everything else depends on the country.

Part 2: what each country adds

Country Extra documents Who arranges
Russia — Gzhel State University HIV medical report, work details (if you have worked) Medical: you, at a listed lab; rest: us
Belarus — Minsk State University Nothing beyond passport, academic certificate and HD photo Translation: us
Moldova — government university Police clearance certificate (PCC), birth certificate, 35×45 digital photo PCC: you via Passport Seva; apostille and translation: us
Latvia · Lithuania · Slovenia University's own list, interview preparation; temporary residence card (TRC) issued in India Interview prep and TRC: us
Singapore Diploma admission forms Us
Mauritius Admission forms, 1-month accommodation arranged with the university Us

Country guides: Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia.

Part 3: the three documents students get wrong

Police clearance certificate (PCC)

Needed for Moldova. It is issued by the Regional Passport Office and applied for through the Passport Seva portal, with a police verification step. Two rules: apply only after the country is fixed (it has a validity period), and apply in the same name and spelling as your passport.

Birth certificate

Needed for Moldova. If yours is missing or has a spelling mismatch with your passport, fix it at the municipal office before the file opens — it cannot be corrected at the embassy stage.

Translations and apostille

Every non-English document (and for some countries, the English ones too) is translated and apostilled through the Ministry of External Affairs. This is included in our package. Shops near the bus stand will happily translate your marksheets for cash; embassies reject most of them for format. Bring originals, we do the rest.

Part 4: what to bring to the first sitting

  1. Passport, or the passport application receipt
  2. All marksheets and certificates, original
  3. Any earlier refusal letter
  4. A rough budget and the months you can travel (intakes are September and April)

Do not bring or buy beforehand: photographs, translations, affidavits, a PCC, or a medical. Each has a format or validity rule that depends on the country you have not chosen yet.

Part 5: the order things happen in

  1. Counselling at the Hisar office — eligibility and country fixed, total cost in writing.
  2. Originals collected, scanned and returned the same day where possible.
  3. Country extras — PCC or medical applied for by you with our checklist.
  4. Apostille and translation — about one to two weeks.
  5. Admission — offer or invitation letter.
  6. Visa file submitted; interview preparation where there is one.
  7. Decision — Singapore about 20 days, Mauritius about 35, Russia and Belarus about 45, Moldova 45–60.

Frequently asked questions

Which documents are needed for a study visa?

Passport, 10th and 12th marksheets (and degree if you have one), and a photograph in the embassy's format are needed everywhere. Each country then adds its own items — for example a police clearance certificate for Moldova or an HIV medical report for Russia.

Do I need a police clearance certificate (PCC) for a study visa?

For Moldova, yes — it is issued by the Regional Passport Office through Passport Seva. Russia, Belarus, Singapore and Mauritius do not ask for it on our routes. Apply only after the country is fixed, because a PCC has a validity period.

Who gets the documents translated and apostilled?

At Dreams Destination, translation and apostille are included in the study package. Do not pay for translations before counselling — embassies require specific formats and a wrongly done translation is wasted money.

What should I bring to the first counselling sitting in Hisar?

Your passport (or its application receipt), all marksheets and certificates in original, details of any earlier visa refusal, and a rough budget. That is enough to tell you which countries are open to you.

Is a bank statement or sponsor letter required?

It depends on the country and university; several of our routes do not ask for proof of funds at the admission stage. The exact financial documents, if any, are listed in writing once the country is fixed, never as a surprise later.

How long does the documents stage take?

If originals are ready, about one to two weeks for apostille and translation, after which the admission and visa file moves — Singapore about 20 days, Russia and Belarus about 45, Moldova 45–60. Delays almost always come from a missing original, not from the embassy.
